NSK Expanding technical services and strengthening its business management framework to drive further growth in China
Tokyo, Japan - NSK Ltd. (NSK; Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Norio Otsuka) today announced the opening of a new research and development center in China, marking the occasion with an official ceremony for the
launch of NSK (China) Research and Development Co., Ltd., in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province. In its role as headquarters for NSK’s operations in China, NSK (China).
NSK (China) Investment will expand its functions for production, marketing, IT and finance, in order to pursue a unified strategy aiming to further expand NSK’s business in China.
With the launch of NSK (China) Research and Development, NSK is now positioned to offer a full range of technical support services in China for the entire NSK product lineup, covering everything from industrial machinery bearings and automotive products to
precision machinery and parts. The new China R&D center assumes the role of NSK’s largest international R&D center.
Going forward, NSK will increase the size of the engineering staff at the China R&D center, staffing it with engineers who possess specialized knowledge in each industry sector. The technical staff will focus on providing technical services such as product
testing and evaluation, while offering local design services to provide a faster response than before. In addition, the technical staff will endeavor to enhance the level of marketing technical support, and strengthen R&D to support the development of
environmentally friendly products that meet the needs of the local market in China.
At the official ceremony to mark the launch of NSK (China) Research and Development, NSK President and CEO Norio Otsuka said, “NSK’s business in China has grown at a rapid pace in recent years, and our China business continues to increase in significance to the NSK Group as a whole. By establishing an independent framework for technical services in China, NSK strengthens its ability to provide intangibles in the form of technical support. This will in turn improve the level of services that we can provide to our customers by actually seeing things up close, while enhancing our ability to pursue a multifaceted approach to sales. With the relocation of NSK (China) Investment, we will focus on enhancing our business management framework, so that we can execute a unified growth strategy through the collaborative effort of our production, marketing and technical wings.”
