Each unit is inspected to determine the cause of failure and what work is needed to repair the product. Each unit is then cleaned, re-balled, straightened, and restored to “like new” appearance, function, and drawing specifications.

Additional services include nut and shaft grinding and polishing, the manufacturing of replacement nuts and shafts, drag torque measuring, lead error analysis, and noise testing.

NSK Americas Field Services

Field Services not only helps with the correct installation of NSK bearings, we also help with custom mounting and handling tools.
NSK's custom mounting and handling tools range from tri-section plates and pullers for small applications all the way to specialized lifting equipment for giant size bearings.  These tools not only help to protect the bearing from installation and removal damage, they are also designed to minimize safety risks.

For example, a tool that was designed by Field Services for use in a steel mill cut the installation time by 75%, was safer for the mechanics to use, and eliminated any chance of bearing damage.

Test Program Administration

Not every plant is the same.  Each has its own set of challenges that sometimes makes it difficult to gauge the success of a project.
At NSK, we can help create a test program for your application and monitor its progress. Critical success factors that are included in our test programs are initial cost analysis, ongoing cost monitoring, part life analysis, and man-hours needed for a successful application.
In one test program, it was determined that the bearing maintenance interval could be increased from six months to nine months if a particular grease was utilized. The customer was able to convert his 40-count inventory over to this nine month interval, saving thousands of dollars.

Maintenance Seminars

The best bearing in the world will not reach its maximum life unless it is properly installed and maintained. The goal for maintenance training is to help your plant obtain the greatest benefit from your purchases by safely installing and maintaining your NSK bearings.
