A car´s power steering reduces the amount of effort needed to park or make tight turns. However, since most conventional power steering systems use hydraulic power assistance, their pump is in continuous operation, thereby lead to substantial energy loss.
We decided to reduce such losses and improve steering effectiveness by using electric power instead: as you turn the wheel, a sensor judges the resistance, and an electric motor is activated to give the necessary amount of assistance. There’s no wasted energy since the electric motor is only activated when needed, so you save fuel and space too by eliminating the hydraulic pump. And, since the arrangement is controlled by electronic software, adding functions such as vibration suppression to the steering wheel is easy.
